CND is EC-Council's certification for defenders who protect and monitor networks rather than attack them, covering perimeter defense, traffic monitoring, and incident response. It targets network administrators moving into blue-team roles. It is a foundational-level credential, useful as a stepping stone before deeper defensive certs like GIAC's GCIA or CompTIA's CySA+.
