DevOps merges software development and IT operations into one culture and toolchain: version control everything, automate builds and deployment, ship small changes often, and watch production closely. It replaced the wall between build it and run it. Security's version of joining that culture is DevSecOps: putting controls inside the pipeline instead of at the end, where they would simply be routed around.
