DHE

Diffie-Hellman Ephemeral

cryptohard

DHE is Diffie-Hellman key exchange performed with fresh, one-time keys for each session instead of a long-lived key. Because the ephemeral keys are discarded, past sessions stay secret even if a server's long-term key is later stolen, a property called forward secrecy. TLS 1.3 requires ephemeral key exchange for exactly this reason.
