K8s

K8s is shorthand for Kubernetes (K, eight letters, s), the open-source system that schedules and runs containerized applications across fleets of machines. It is the de facto operating system of the cloud. Its power comes with a notorious configuration surface: overly permissive service accounts, exposed dashboards, and privileged containers are the standard findings, which is why CIS publishes a dedicated Kubernetes benchmark.
