RaaS

Ransomware as a Service

attacksmedium

Ransomware as a Service is a criminal business model where developers rent out ransomware tooling and infrastructure to affiliates who carry out the actual attacks. Profits are split between the operators and affiliates, dramatically lowering the skill needed to run ransomware campaigns. RaaS is a major reason ransomware attacks surged, since it industrialized what was once a niche crime.
