XaaS

Anything as a Service

cloudmedium

XaaS is a catch-all for the expanding menu of cloud delivery models, where the X stands for software, platform, infrastructure, desktops, security, or nearly anything consumed as a subscription. The security takeaway is that each 'aaS' shifts the provider-versus-customer responsibility line differently, so the label alone tells you little about who secures what. Pinning down the specific service model behind an XaaS pitch is the first step in any cloud risk assessment.
