XaaS is an umbrella term for the growing family of cloud delivery models, where the X stands for almost anything: software, platforms, desktops, disaster recovery, even security. It reflects the broader shift from owning technology to consuming it as a subscription. The term is useful shorthand when discussing cloud strategy across many service types.
