CNSA

Commercial National Security Algorithm Suite

cryptohard

CNSA is the NSA's approved set of cryptographic algorithms for protecting U.S. National Security Systems, replacing the older Suite B. CNSA 2.0, announced in 2022, mandates a transition to quantum-resistant algorithms, including ML-KEM for key establishment, ML-DSA for signatures, and LMS or XMSS for firmware signing. Vendors selling into national security environments must follow its phased timeline, which targets full post-quantum adoption by the early 2030s.
