CompTIA is a vendor-neutral certification body whose security ladder runs from Security+ through CySA+ and PenTest+ up to CASP+ (now SecurityX). Its exams are widely used as baseline hiring filters and several meet US Department of Defense 8140 workforce requirements. Certifications renew on a three-year cycle through continuing education credits rather than a re-test.
