The IAPP is the professional body for privacy practitioners and the issuer of the CIPP, CIPM, and CIPT certifications. CIPP is regional and comes in variants for US, European, Canadian, and Asian privacy law, while CIPM covers program management and CIPT covers privacy in technology. IAPP credentials are the usual baseline for data protection officer and privacy engineering roles.
