MTTA measures the average time between an alert firing and a responder acknowledging it and starting to work. It sits alongside metrics like MTTD (detect) and MTTR (respond or recover) to show how quickly a team reacts once something is flagged. A rising MTTA is often an early warning sign of alert fatigue, where analysts are so flooded with noise that real threats sit unattended.
