Product Security Incident Response Team
A PSIRT handles vulnerability reports and security incidents affecting a company's own products rather than its internal network. When a researcher reports a flaw in a vendor's software, the PSIRT triages it, coordinates a fix, and publishes an advisory. It matters because responsible vulnerability handling protects every customer who runs the affected product.
